In previous issues of Pensions Post, we have provided some information on pensions dashboards, which are to be introduced as a way to help people to see information about all their pensions savings, including their State Pension, in one place.
The Pension Schemes Bill, included in the Queen’s Speech on 14 October, is expected to feature provisions to help with getting pensions dashboards implemented and used, such as compelling pension schemes to make data available to them.
One of the first pensions dashboards to be made available will be a non-commercial one produced by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). The delivery of this will be led by representatives from a 12-strong Steering Group of the Pensions Dashboards Industry Delivery Group, with the priorities of this group being to:
- Create a roadmap for delivering the digital architecture for dashboards
- Work with industry on setting data standards for dashboards
- Design a governance and security framework for data supplied by schemes
- Work with industry on their readiness to provide data via dashboards
The Steering Group’s work will be supported by various industry working groups, covering a dozen different topics.
RPMI hopes to be involved with the development of pension dashboards at the working group level. This will also assist the work required to make data available to pensions dashboards from the railway pension schemes.
