The employer portal will be offline for maintenance on Sunday, 22 June 2025.
This will help to enhance the security of the site and lay the foundation for new features to be added in the future.
Once the maintenance window is complete, you’ll need to reset your password as soon as possible.
If your organisation has URL whitelisting in place for https://customers.myrailpen.com, then your IT team will also need to whitelist the new authentication URL: https://auth-customers.myrailpen.com. This will ensure uninterrupted access to the portal moving forward.
You will not be able to log in to the employer portal again after 22 June until your password is reset.
Your username/email address and memorable information do not need to be reset and will remain the same, although you can choose to change them if you wish.
We would appreciate it if you could pass on this information to any of your colleagues who may also use the portal, and ask them to reset their password as soon as possible after 22 June too.
Please also let us know if there is anyone who may no longer require access to the portal, for example if they have left the company, and their account can be removed.
How to reset your password
The first time you try to log in to the employer portal using your existing credentials, after the maintenance is complete, you’ll see a security update notification, prompting you to reset your password.
You’ll also be sent an email with a link to complete the password reset process. This will go to the email address that is registered for your account on the portal. Please remember to check your junk folder in case it goes there.
The password reset link will be valid for 1 hour. If you don’t reset your password within this time then the link will expire and you’ll need to contact Railpen to request a new one.
To reset your password, simply click on the link in the email and follow the instructions provided. Your new password must:
- be at least 8 characters long
- contain lower case and upper case letters
- contain a number
- contain a symbol
If your new password has the potential to not be secure you will see a pop up alert advising you to try a different password.
Once you’ve entered your new password, you’ll also be given the chance to change your security question and memorable information if you want too, however this is optional.
You only need to reset your password once. You will then receive an email to confirm it’s been completed successfully and you can continue to log into the portal as normal.
You can find a full step-by-step guide to resetting your password here.
If you don’t receive the password reset link
If you’ve tried to log into the portal following the website maintenance, then you should receive an email with a password reset link within 15 minutes.
Please remember to check your junk folder in case it ends up there.
If you don’t receive the email please contact Railpen so this can be resolved.
