We’ve reached a major milestone in our pensions dashboards project.
The Railways Pension Scheme (including the IWDC Section) and British Transport Police Force Superannuation Fund were connected to the dashboard eco-system on Friday 16 May.
We had been working towards a ‘staging’ date of 31 May to connect to the wider Pensions Dashboard Programme’s (PDP) architecture, so we’re delighted to have achieved this a little earlier.
A quick recap on dashboards and what they are
They’re a Government initiative letting people easily access all of their pensions information, including the State Pension, in one secure online place.
They’ll really help members get a full view of all the benefits they have, especially reconnecting with old or forgotten pension pots.
The next steps after connecting
While this doesn’t mean members have access to dashboards just yet, it’s a significant step forward for us to have connected to the wider system.
Dashboards will launch to the public at the Dashboards Available Point (DAP). We’re waiting to hear when this will be, but all schemes in scope must be connected by 31 October 2026 at the latest.
In the meantime, our teams are continuing to gear up for the dashboards’ arrival. There’s a lot of work to be done ahead of the DAP.
We’re launching a ‘model office’ internally as part of the implementation plan. This will bring together Railpen colleagues from several areas to handle anything coming through to us from the testing that the PDP will now be ramping up.
We’re also providing comprehensive training for all colleagues who need it, to ensure we’re well-prepared.
We’ll continue to keep you up to speed with developments as the project progresses.
