We’ve introduced two new updates as part of our latest release aimed at making your experience more straightforward.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the employer portal, we’re pleased to announce two key enhancements designed to simplify processes and reduce administrative effort. These updates focus on AVC setup improvements and payroll ID selection for AVC Extra members.
AVC Setup: Contribution Change improvements
This update streamlines the process for setting up Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) within the employer portal.
It is designed to reduce manual intervention and improve the accuracy and efficiency of contribution setup for both Defined Contribution (DC) and Defined Benefit (DB) schemes.
Key Improvements
- Simplified AVC Setup: employers can now initiate AVCs directly through the portal with improved flexibility.
- Relaxed Validation Rules:
- Employers can enter an expected employee AVC amount even if the employee’s normal contribution amount is not provided.
- Similarly, employer SMART AVC amounts can be entered without requiring the standard employer SMART contribution amount.
- These changes apply to both DC and DB AVC setups.
What’s changed on the portal
A new field has been added to the Start Paying AVCs screen, allowing employers to specify the type of AVC being set up - AVC Smart Contributions or AVC Normal Contributions.
This enhancement eliminates the need to contact Employer Support or raise a TCS ticket to correct contribution types after setup, saving time and reducing administrative overhead.

New payroll ID improvements for AVC Extra
This new enhancement improves the setup process for members joining AVC Extra.
What’s changed on the portal
Previously, when an employer created a new member record under the AVC Extra scheme, the system would automatically assign the member to a random payroll. If this needed to be changed, the employer had to contact Employer Support and raise a TCS ticket - adding unnecessary delays and administrative effort.
With this update, employers now have the ability to manually select the payroll ID for new entrants to AVC Extra, similar to the existing functionality available for DB schemes.
These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to making the Employer Portal more intuitive and efficient for day-to-day tasks.
