As the festive season approaches, Railway Benefit Fund (RBF), the charity supporting railway people and their families, is launching a series of fundraising campaigns.

Light Up A Child's Christmas

The RBF’s annual campaign is back for 2025, aiming to bring much-needed festive cheer to 300 children of railway families currently facing financial hardship this Christmas.

Railway Benefit Fund’s annual Christmas Shop continues to serve as the destination for railway enthusiasts seeking unique gifts while actively supporting the railway community.

As the final weeks leading up to Christmas begin, the shop remains open, offering a lifeline to families facing hardship this season.

Three Wishes Appeal

RBF has announced its annual Christmas appeal, Three Christmas Wishes, calling on the entire railway community and the wider public to help support railway workers and their families facing financial and personal challenges.

To grant a wish:

  1. Find the ideal present for the rail enthusiast in your life while supporting a vital cause via the Christmas Shop.
  2. Bring joy to 300 children of railway workers who have experienced financial hardship by donating to the Light Up A Child’s Christmas campaign.
  3. Use your festive get-togethers to raise money for RBF through Festive Fundraising.

The Heart of Gold awards recognise the dedication, compassion, and outstanding contributions of exceptional railway workers.

The awards were presented by Pete Waterman OBE, Charity President and Jo Kaye, CEO of RBF, at a ceremony hosted by Railpen at our London office.
