Eligible organisations can submit employee nominations from 1 February 2026, and employer nominations from 1 April 2026.
Trustee Director elections are taking place in early 2026, and eligible organisations will be able to nominate a candidate to join the Trustee Board in accordance with the articles of association.

If your organisation is eligible, you’ll have received a communication on 30 September, asking you to start thinking about who your organisation could nominate.
Please note retiring directors can be nominated for a further term of office.
What’s involved: life as a Trustee director
Trusteeship is an excellent opportunity for people who want to develop their career skills as they will be exposed to a variety of business areas, from administration to strategy development to investments – there is no typical day in the life of a Trustee Director!
The ideal candidate is someone who is an effective communicator, comfortable challenging constructively to avoid group-think, and highly skilled and diligent with excellent attention to detail. Successful candidates will need to work collaboratively with the Board to make effective decisions.
Because we understand that diverse and inclusive groups make better decisions, and better represent the members and beneficiaries of the scheme, we’re interested to hear from candidates who have a wide range of lived experiences. Candidates don’t need a particular background to excel in this role, although we’d like to hear from anyone with experience or skills relating to finance, accounting, actuarial services, people management, risk management, technological innovation and security.
The most important thing is a candidate who’s willing to take on the responsibility and substantial time commitment for this varied and interesting role, including attending and preparing for meetings, and ongoing development responsibilities.
